Snap together flooring – Wooden floors are traditionally installed with nails or glue, but modern “floating floor” systems use either. Instead laminated wood floor boards to snap together at the sides and ends and forms a dense, solid surface that can sit loose on the floor below. The entire surface is held down at the edges of the floor trim.

Snap together flooring floating floors can go over just about any existing flooring, as long as it is solid. Cover the entire floor of a layer of plastic underlayment, given in courses from wall to wall and taped together at the sides with plastic underlayment tape. Cut the plastic floor heating mat with a razor blade as required to suit.

Snap two floorboards of your start to finish. Place them next to the wall where you start the floor, with the grooved sides of boards against the wall. Insert shims between the boards and the wall to create a small space to allow the floor to move with climate change. Snap together flooring extra cards on the ends of the first, for them next to the wall with more shims. Cover the entire length of the floor, cut the end pieces as needed to fit.
